Equipping Christians in Youthwork
 ‘equip’ is a four week course designed to help youthworkers in their work with young people. It will be run jointly by the Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich and Christian Youth Ministries (CYM).
The aim of the course is to help participants understand themselves as youthwork practioners, and also give them insight into what it means to effectively work with young people.
The course will be led by Baz Wilkinson (Diocesan Youth Advisor) and Sarah Benham (CYM training and development co-ordinator), who between them have experience in both secular and Christian youthwork, as well as delivering engaging and interactive training.
The four sessions will include:
- Understanding yourself as youthworker
- Understanding young people
- Youthwork approaches & practice
- Practical Skills for youthwork
The four week course will start on the Tuesday 27th September and is being held at the St Nicholas Centre, Ipswich from 7:30 – 10pm. The cost of the course is £20 which includes all course materials and refreshments.
